twittering a story

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service. It gives the author a mere 140 characters to work with for each post. (find my personal posts at twitter.com/wessf)

Below you will find that Steve Murphy and Micah Foreman and I have taken on this same 140 character restriction for ourselves, submitting several micro-stories apiece.

Feel free to post a comment or twitter your own stories in the comments. Enjoy.

A Tempered Hope

Dal winced at the pain. Had felt its nearness daily.
Steadfast he was. And giving. And hopeful.

“Life will one day be too much,” he sighed.

Pondering Death

Ever wonder about death?
Never interested me
No?
Nope

Why do you say that?
We’ll all experience it
That’s true
I’ll just wait ’till then

The Man from West Texas

A stranger walked in, sat down at a table.
Ordered the room cleared.

Gunfire erupted suddenly. Then silence.

No one walked out except him.

Imobilis

Paralyzed by fear she anticipated the next step.

Sarah began down the path of “what if” to never return.

Battle

The mirror, the guilt, the shame, the jeans, the shirt were all weak
compared to the strength of the Girl Scout Thin Mint cookie. So I ate.

Uncontrolled

The heat was insignificant at first, but his icy skin welcomed the warmth.
Weary from the cold, sleep came quickly. He awoke to an inferno.

Myth of Palesoul

Beor, birthed for battle, for one moment created -death of Palesoul.
The branch falls to crack the neck, to crush the twisted soul
-justice.

A Worrying Noise

A noise. There’s nothing there, go to sleep. My late, half-thought
reply inadequate to turn her mind from eating worry. But I heard it,
too.
